RESL is a strong proponent of the critical importance that As-Is data plays in managing risk in decommissioning projects. In 2017, RESL was pivotal in preparing the groundwork for decommissioning EnQuest’s Heather Hub, a significant North Sea oil and gas platform. RESL delivered a comprehensive strategic study preparing EnQuest for the task ahead.
This 40-deliverable project involved meticulously examining the platform’s extensive infrastructure, including 10 subsea equipment, 11 pipelines, and 49 wells. Key activities include data collection and quality analysis, database design, gap analysis, and developing a forward work program.
This strategic approach meant that EnQuest could progress planning with full knowledge of how any data gaps might affect the decommissioning and with mitigation strategies to ensure a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible decommissioning process.
